I've just started using this in homeschooling and I am realizing I stumbled on something really neat. This curriculum was written by a Christian who believes the Bible is the Word of God, and it's an amazing unit study which teaches the Bible in ways I'd never heard before. For example, it gives the pattern of meaning in Hebrew poetry, and asks students to write something in the same pattern. It discusses the Gilgamesh flood epic compared with the greater richness, detail and accuracy of the Biblical flood account. It glorifies the Creator and the One who constantly seeks to communicate Himself to humans, by revealing Him in greater detail.I really like the art lessons that are intermixed, as well as writing assignments - making this a true unit study wrapped around the Bible. The student book is over 200 pages and contain enough lessons for a whole year, in my estimation. The teacher's manual for this is only about 70 pages; it gives Bible references and main points for each lesson, and about a half-dozen lesson scripts with an in-depth teaching on a certain passage.I'm using it with a 4th and 6th grader, but I have to trim down some things for my 4th grader. It could be used very effectively with older students, I believe.
